WATER HEATER

We have been meaning to get one for the house for ages... so everytime Emir needs his bath ... we'd boil water first in our mini electric kettle... and everytime Emir does No. 2... we'd do the same thing... if Emir does No. 2 for the second time in a day... well, you get the pic... so finally, we manage to get one... after a long deliberation and finding time to actually survey for one...

We read about it on the net (and Erwin was right, the forum is better cause they are the honest opinion of end users of the product). We found out that there is a difference between a water heater without pump or with built in pump and... the difference is quite a hefty sum of amount of money.

Bang Usup will help us to install the water heater in our bathroom.

I dont know about you, but somehow or rather we will always go to MEGA (The shop selling electrical goods opposite Regalis Court)... so this time around we decided to try out the shop next to it... KOK SIONG. The sale assistant, Sharon was quite good and manage to provide us (with most of the details we got from our own research prior to going there). I like it when they are helpful and not pushy... she is very attentive and knows when you need your time to think and very quick on her toes when it looked like I was going to ask her something. So, so far our experience there is quite good so we'd recommend you to try it out and see if it is true to our word. Look for Sharon.

Some of the pictures taken that day:

He had a field day looking at the huge screen.. and cartoon was on!

Erwin was showing me something (oh ya the price of really ridicilously cheap LCD TV):
*See what Emir is doin - didnt lift his eyes of those huge LCD TV

Some of the water heater on display:

We got ALPHA (without the built in pump) for RM299.00.
(Last row bottom pic - middle one)

Note: waiting for Bang Usup today.. in the mean, we'll just boil some water first.. ahakss..

28.10.2009 - time to go home... bye bye KL....

It's finally the day to pack up and go home.

Emir had his last fun in the bathtub... he even did a swimming motion ON HIS OWN! Baby instinct I suppose. Bye bye bath tub.

That is his PEACE sign... he did it on his own! So clever! Mummy so proud!

I woke up early and packed all our stuff... I am very systematic when it comes to this... and I am a good packer and am proud of this skill. After that we left Emir with Jijah for awhile while we run downstairs to Robinson and grabbed what we can. Erwin got his new shoes and loafers and t-shirts. Emir got his doodle toy and a pair of BEN10 Shoes (which later was too small for him.. sob sob.. they were so darn cute!!)

Apparently, the Gardens have this automatic system whereby once you have exceeded the check out time which is 12noon... everything shuts down, even the phone line... so we extended our check out time till 1pm to enable me to finalise packing and everything. A final sweep of the room... all coast is clear...

Emir with daddy... it was un-intentional thou.. the red t-shirts

Then, off to KLIA using a cab which cost quite a hefty sum ie RM150... but considering the time and our stuff... it was worth paying the money... we got to KLIA in time... and we could dispense the lugging around of luggages.. logistic peeps.. logistic...

bye bye Gardens..

Emir doodle-d while waiting for daddy to check us in

We check-ed in and guess who was inthe same flight? `cle BOB - Emir would say....

Home sweet home... so tired... Yup, he didnt sleep at all the in plane (I had ear pain ouch ouch ouch)... as soon as touch down... he goes to zzzzzz-land

All in all it was a good trip... had a fun fun time... BYE BYE KL...

Sincerely

~Anor~

Speedy Gonzales' Holiday Part III @ 27.10.2009 @ Chillies Midvalley - later that evening

Once we have arrived from UiTM Shah Alam, Erwin told me that a good friend of his Matad wanted to meet him and have dinner together. Bob came too.

Initially I thought I'd just rest after a long day but then Emir has yet to have his dinner and it has been awhile since I last saw Matad, so both Emir and I went along. Chillies is just downstairs haaha

Matad has been wanting to bring us here coz he knows how much we love food and the fact that they have a bottomless nacho serving (endless serving) is sooo very the inviting.

Emir had a nice bowl of beef soup but after he had his fill (and covered with soup from head to toe) he was more interested in exploring the place so poor mummy didnt really get to enjoy her meal... sob sob... but luckily I had the nachos and the wonderful hot wings they had!

Did I tell you for the first time, Erwin and I felt so overwhelmed with the servings of food there!!!

Insya allah, next time we plan to go to Chilies again... but firstly we'll just order above said and then decide whether to order main meals or not...

Told you that it was a speedy gonzales holiday-ing...

Note:

Which is exactly why I didnt have the time to meet any of my friends.... insya allah next time... I'd be rushing for time and any get together with friends must be in a relaxing mode right... the only friend I meet was Zairin and even then it was just for a brief of time for lunch and that she had to rush to pick up her daughter... it's not that we do not want to extend the visit... but you are aware that longer stay would mean longer moolah involved right? Insya allah, will save up some more and with proper budgeting will make next trip longer and more the Pepe Le Pew style.... instead of our speeding bullet/Road Runner holidaying like this one...

The only time we manage to shop was to grab a few items from nearby Robinson Store and in our rushing to go back to our room we bought a pair of BEN 10 sandals for Emir which was way too small for him... and that was it... officially we did not get Emir anything during this trip ... except for a DOODLE toy to keep him company in the plane...

EE's Convocation @ 27.10.2009 @ UiTm Shah Alam

So the day finally came.

Ee's convocation for his completion of Diploma in Food Management (at Uitm Dungun Terengganu branch - that is one mighty far away place) was the last session of the 71st Uitm Graduation at main hall, Dewan Sri Budiman UiTM Shah Alam.

The three of us, Jijah, EE and I took a cab to UiTM Shah Alam and it was RM20 and we left the hotel at around 10am-ish. Still reasonable considering the fact that we have to be there on time and on this trip I felt like everything and every place is so far away from where we were staying! Unlike Kuching where everything is just a stone throw away... hehehe.. well, you know what I mean...

We arrived at the parking lot where all the transit buses were waiting to take us to the hall.

Ee's session was suppose to start at 130pm (but later started at 3pm ... my butt was numb and I was freezing waiting for the ceremony to start... sigh... Malaysian time and habit I suppose)... but people were already lining up since 1130-ish so Jijah and I joined in the crowd. They only allow two (2) guests per graduate/ticket. It was a long queue but there are people (despite looking educated and was waaaaay so much older supposedly wiser than us) who had the guts to want to cut that long queue and pretended like no one saw him. But later a very firm guard came and shouted with a loud voice telling him to wait in line just like everybody else! Kudos!! Kudos!!

Waiting in line to enter the hall. See that lady at the far end corner of the picture who goes around taging people with orange tag which means you are fever free and can enter the hall.

See? Fever free yeay!

This is my view.

The graduates wore face mask prior to entering the hall but I can still recognise my bro. Hi Ee!!

It was such a solemn ceremony, I loved the choir and I loved the live gamelan performances, the procession... the ambiance .... the feeling of pride and love is felt all around and in the hall seeing their loved ones graduate... Did I tell you I sobbed profusely! (which every one in my family expected me to do!) When I saw a mom waving at her child.. I cried... then I am fine... then when I saw Ee and he waved at me.. I cried... Then suddenly a wave of memory of my late mom came... I cried... The more you dont want to cry... the easier the flow of tears... I cried buckets I tell you...

I cried the most was when they announced that one of the law graduates passed away in a car accident and that it was her mother who went on stage to pick up her scroll. It is the saddest thing in the world that any parent should witness their child's demise... but Allah swt is Great and only He knows of His decision. Al-Fatihah.

The worst part was that I was alone in the hall coz my sister was also subjected to the firmness of UiTM staff who forbid her from entering the hall coz she wore pants!!! (Later we found out that it was stated in the invitation card)

Oh ya, did I tell you I clapped like mad everytime a graduate's name is announced. They will only do this if you get an award like a Dean's list award etc and since there were thousands of recipients that day, the rest would only have their name displayed on the two big screens when it is their turn to get their mock scroll. Ee told me that he needs 0.06 to get a Dean's list. Insya Allah Ee... work hard for your Degree. My prayers are with you. Mak would have been so proud!!

Note: Yuna's session was the same as Ee. Saw her in person. So sweet.

Alhamdulillah. The main objective of this trip was achieved. We left UiTM at about 6pm and went back to a hotel with a blue kenari cab (did you guys know that there is such a thing?). Luckily Ee had a cab contact no otherwise it would have taken us ages finding one!

My formal shoes for the function:

After the function:

Bliss....

Some photos of my sister and I while waiting for Ee to return his robe and get his scroll:

The Sea of people during the ceremony:

What a day!

Note: all photos were taken from my hp... Ee's official convo pics are all in the camera.. will put up nicer ones =)

So kesian, he had a paper the day after his big day... so he studied at the hotel... so kesian...

Anyways Ee, congrates! Do work hard so that you'd get a Dean's list and that they'd announce your name instead of just displaying it on the screen... work hard so I can clap like made when it's your name... next time I just bring a bucket...

Note: Both my two bros will be graduating next year... another speedy gonzales' holiday coming up peeps..

P/S In the mean time Erwin was up to his nose handling Emir on his own... Emir is sooooo different from his usual self in Kuching... quite a handful I would say... Kesian daddy sorang2... sakit belakang sakit kaki...

Sincerely

~Anor~

Superpower: Able to fill up buckets with tears...

Speedy Gonzales Holiday-ing Part II n@ 25.10.2009 @ @ later in the afternoon @ late evening

LATER IN THE AFTERNOON

First thing first... MAKAN!!!! After we have checked in and settled down in our room, we wanted to go and eat those HUGE burgers at CARL's Junior and yes true enough... they are huge but sure is costly!!

Yup, the burger was as big as Emir's head hehehe

Daddy happy laaa.. makan2
Note: See Emir happily dipping french fries unto tomato sauce...

Anjang also the same....
Note: She purposely sent this pic to my other bro who couldnt make it to this trip hehe

We waited for Ee to come and joined and stayed with us at the Gardens....

Note: After eating that burger, I couldnt even look at burgers...

LATER THAT EVENING

It is always a good reason to get together whenever a friend comes all the way from Sarawak to KL... So once the news was out... Erwin's friends got together wanted to catch up on things and so the boys arranged dinner and later had some drinks elsewhere...

Kim picked Erwin, Emir and I and Bob (who was staying at the other adjoining hotel to Midvalley) and meet up with Asri and Lat at the Curve. We had dinner at Little Penang Cafe but I forgot to take pictures cos I was busy feeding Emir. I had the Penang Asam Laksa in this huge bowl and Erwin had the Char Kuew Teow...

Ira (Kim's wife) brought little sweet Emille Jasmine along during this trip... For the love of me, Emir was not really in a goo d mood that day (Probably tired from the long journey and from all the excitement being at a new place) .. he goes around following Emille but refuses to share his toys with her...

Can you see him firmly clenching his hands on his toys so that Emille couldnt get them?

There they go, around and around the table...

The mini get-together @ teh tarik place @ The Curve

I told Ira that I planned to go to ICCA and CAKE CONNECTION the day after... and so nice of her to say that she'd take me there ... for further story:
Do visit MyCupcakes' blog:

AND ALL THIS WAS DONE IN ONE DAY... Told ya it was a Speedy Gonzales' holiday-ing

Speedy Gonzales Holiday-ing Part I @ 25.10.2009 @ Mid-day late afternoon

My youngest bro who is at present still pursuing his degree in Food Management at UiTM Shah Alam had his convocation last month on 27.10.2009 @ 130pm session, the very last session of UiTM's 71 Convocation ceremony and so after planning and budget-ing (of course)... Erwin, Emir, Jijah and I went to KL to attend the convocation and.... for our...... mini Speedy Gonzales holiday-ing.... we came and we went....

We stayed at the Gardens Midvalley due to its location and the convenience of having shopping malls annexed to the same.... which means we didnt even have to leave the building to get our amenities ... especially with a baby in tow...

Emir in KL.... That is a whole new story by itself!!

The Speedy Gonzales holiday-er

Jijah, Erwin and Emir
.... and even Patrick came along ...

Daddy with Emir... matching matching...

He did not sleep a wink in the plane but as soon as the plane touch down.. he zzzzzzz
This is his second trip on a plane... Alhamdulillah no tantrums despite being restless cooped up and tied up by the safety seat belt... no ear ache....

TRANSPORTATION:

Initially we wanted to take the ERL which would have cost the three of us adults RM35 X 3 = RMRM105 and the logistic would be lugging around our luggage once we arrive at the KL Sentral and then had to take another cab to the hotel. So we decided to take the airport taxi which took us direct to the doorstep of the Gardens and it only cost us RM76.00 and porters were there to take out of stuff out of the trunk and straight to our room ... brilliant!

Note: There was not a single cab "ulat" who goes around soliciting people to take a ride in their illegal cabs! the service was fast and people and both cabs were lining up properly... so if you are travelling in a group of 3 like us (plus baby), this would be a good consideration.

This is where we stayed peeps!

Emir in the Gardens =)
He was so excited with the new room and environment that he didnt know what to do and was undecided... where to go first... uuuu... new beds... uuuu... new bathroom.... uuuu... big flat screen tv... then he saw the big chair... and climbing he goes...

Patrick in the Gardens =)

... to be continued...
